Simon's Walkers

Story

Simon's Walkers comprise of his nearest and dearest - his wife, mum, mother in law, two sisters and friends. There are six of us and the hospice have asked each of us to raise £140. We would be so grateful for your support in helping us get there!

The staff at Leckhampton Court achieved what we had thought impossible. They enabled Simon to spend quality time with his closest family when it mattered most and took over care for Simon with a level of compassion I didn't even know existed. It is the most beautiful place and they really need your support.

It costs £10,000 a day to run the hospice and the majority of funding is from donations - NOT the NHS.

Donate £20 to pay for an hour of nursing care.  £140 will pay for a hospice nurse for a day. £500 is approximately what it costs for a patient to stay at Sue Ryder for 24 hours. Simon was lucky enough to spend the last three and a half weeks of his life here.

Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
